How to Transfer Leads from Facebook to HubSpot

Facebook is one of the most popular social networks worldwide, with roughly 2.85 billion monthly active users.

It's no wonder why marketers are spending a ton of money on Facebook ads to increase brand awareness and drive qualified leads.

By connecting HubSpot with Facebook, you can effectively track leads as they interact with the ever-prevalent social media platform and show how your campaigns are influencing pipeline generation.

How to pass leads from your lead ad forms to HubSpot

HubSpot has a built-in integration that connects to your Facebook ad account and allows you to create and manage your campaigns directly in your HubSpot ads tool. Here's how to set up the integration between HubSpot and Facebook Ads:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.

  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to ‘Marketing’ > ‘Ads’.
  • Click ‘Connect accounts’ and select ‘Facebook’.

  • Log in to your Facebook account. Review the permissions, then click ‘Allow’. Choose the Facebook Ad account you want to connect to HubSpot and enable “Ad tracking”. This will allow HubSpot to track which ads contacts are clicking and converting on.  Once set up, click ‘Connect’.

  • Once you see HubSpot and Facebook are connected, click ‘Next’. Now you have the option to activate lead syncing. The lead syncing option allows you to automatically sync a lead's contact details to HubSpot if they convert on a lead generation ad. This allows you to see which lead generation ads are driving your highest value contacts.
  • You can also set up an option that allows you to associate closed won deal revenue with contacts that interact with your ads.

  • Once you’ve completed the integration and confirmed your settings, you can go back to the Ads dashboard in HubSpot and analyse the ROI and ROAS of your ads using HubSpot’s revenue data.

How to pass leads from LinkedIn to HubSpot with Ruler Analytics

While HubSpot is a powerful tool to help you better understand your leads, it's not perfect.

First, the built-in integration only accounts for ad clicks and contacts from Facebook.

In this modern age, consumers are using many different marketing touchpoints to help make important purchasing decisions.

The likelihood is that your Facebook ads are just one small touchpoint in a very long and complex journey. So, focusing on Facebook in isolation doesn't tell you much about your leads and why they chose your products or services.

Second, we can't talk about Facebook and not mention iOS 14.5. Apple's policy prohibits specific data collection and sharing unless people opt-in to tracking on iOS 14.5 or later. Since the update, marketers have lost visibility into the efficacy of their ads.

So, what's the solution?

In the battle against iOS 14.15 and its tracking protections, advertisers have turned to first-party tracking solutions to measure ad performance and accurately attribute conversions and leads.

An example of one of those tools is Ruler Analytics.

Ruler is a marketing attribution tool that uses first-party data to capture and track your users individually.

Once an anonymous user converts into a lead, Ruler will create a customer journey, including every action and touchpoint that led to the conversion.

Ruler gathers and distributes the conversion and marketing attribution data, sending the information to your HubSpot CRM.

With Ruler, the flow of data between your marketing channels and HubSpot is automatic.

You’ll find more data on your leads, such as where they're coming from and how far they make it in the sales funnel.
